Vicky Coren Wins London Leg of EPT Event

The ladies at Chicksnchips.com were pleasantly surprised earlier this week when we heard that Victoria Coren won the big prize at the EPT's London Event at the Grosvenor Hotel's Victoria Casino.
No one really expected Vicky, the 33 year old daughter of humorist Alan Coren and a columnist for the Guardian (and several other papers) to win. The fact is that Victoria never had a win this big before. In fact, prior to this win, her total earnings from poker play totalled somewhere around £50,000, according to this column in the Guardian. That includes her win in the second edition of Celebrity Poker Club!
Victoria was neck in neck with Emad Tahtou, an Aussie poker pro, when it got to heads up play. However, it only took two hands for her to take the title down. The flop came 5,3,4. Emad went all in with his pocket 8s. Unfortunately, for him, Vicky had a 6,7 in the pocket. Her straight held up and ... that was all this columnist wrote!
Victoria is the first woman to win an EPT event! Congrats, girl!
